A wife was having an unusually busy day and realized she was going to be home much later than expected.
So she picked up her phone and sent her husband a text message:
“Hi, I will get home late tonight. Please cook dinner, then wash all the dirty dishes. Also, make sure you prepare our bed and put the kids to sleep before I return.”
After sending the message, she waited for a reply.
Nothing.
No “Okay.”
No “Sure.”
Not even a thumbs-up emoji.
She stared at her phone for a few seconds, knowing her husband very well. He had probably read the first line, panicked, and pretended he had not seen the rest.
So she decided to send another message.
A few seconds later, his phone buzzed again.
“And I forgot to mention… I have also bought a bottle of Blue Label Premium Scotch Whisky for you.”
This time, the reply came almost instantly.
“Really?”
The wife looked at the screen, smiled to herself, and typed back:
“No… I just wanted to make sure you got my first message.”
